It had a reputation but never paid attention. So was up to face it, my transport for most days at work. It was bus #70 of BEST. My initial days at work, would imply making it quite early and wait so as to not miss the bus and be late. Time went by and got relaxed about catching the bus, with a know it all attitude. As a seasoned animal relaxes but knows when to strike so as to get the prey I too behaved in a similar way. I worked in a office district which was a mill area converted to the upmarket office area, the office facilities had sprung, but not the public transport. There was just one bus from my location and in all just three bus routes that plied on that road. Parking space was at a premium in my office complex, add to the fact that this was my first job, so affordability of a cab everyday was not an option.
So the 70 no. bus was my ride for most of the days, a part of my everyday routine, I could forget anything but the fact that the bus arrives at 9.25am. This was one of the few buses of the undertaking, which it could claim which arrived at such precision, it was more to do with the route it followed and the limited crowd. I could infact match my watch timing with the arrival of the bus, mostly. I say it was mostly since barring exceptions the bus made it dot on time. Incase u missed it; it would be certainly a wait of 45 minute, most of the time by mistake sometimes intentional. But the ride to work did make me more disciplined infact time management of sorts. Also, living on the edge, catch a bus at 9.25 and reach at 9.45am dot, so as to avoid the late remark. The ride to work everyday made me study a pattern which was predictable and intriguing. The bus rides also gave me time to catch up on music and some much needed discussion with some people who were of a different stream. Not to mention some friends who we till day fight on silly things. Wish to throw some light of the memoirs in the alternate posts.
